NJSBDC to host veterans expo

NJBIZ - 2/18/2019

The New Jersey Small Business Development Center at Ramapo College in Bergen County will offer business coaching to veterans on Feb. 19 at the Veterans Procurement Resource Expo.
United States Air Force Brig. Gen. Harris Jay Klein will coach veterans on how to break into government contracting. A veteran himself, he served numerous tours with the USAF and is now a business consultant. Veterans will have the opportunity to network with government agencies looking for their goods or services.
Presenters include the General Services Administration, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
“We’ll cover the necessary actions a business must take the do business with the government, and we’re focused on tangible outcomes,” said Vincent Vicari, regional director of the NJSBDC. “The presenters are not presenting on what one can do far in the future. All of my presenters control a delivery system. They are the ones that a veteran goes to when they have questions on how to do business in
procurement setting.”
Veterans will also have the opportunity to discuss funding possibilities.
“I’m very optimistic that all of the veterans that attend will have takeaways that they can work on tomorrow and resolve problems they may have had yesterday,” he said.
The expo will be held in partnership with the Small Business Administration and in collaboration with the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers and Rockland Economic Development Corp.
This free event will be held at Ramapo College in Mahwah from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Interested participants can register here.
