The Button-Mate is an emergency alert system designed for use by seniors and individuals with disabilities who are at risk for health emergencies. The system includes wireless neceklace and wrist help buttons and a receiver that plugs into an existing push-button call system (not included). The alarm system can then be activated by the call-button or by the Button-Mate wireless necklace and wrist Help Buttons. The system includes a Y-adapter with a 0.25-inch jack for insertion into the call system wall jack. The existing wired call button can be inserted into the other side of the Y-adapter. OPTIONS: Other plugs and Y-adapters are available for call systems that do not have 0.25-inch wall jacks. POWER: The Help button uses a lithium battery. The receiver uses an alternating current (AC) adapter with a battery for backup; the backup battery is continuously charged by the AC adapter. The receiver monitors the condition of the help button battery every time the button is pressed.
