Number Recognition: Fall Tree Number Matching is a do it yourself activity designed for children with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and learning disabilities to practice number recognition.

Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather materials.

  • Leaf stickers (found at the Dollar Tree or the like).
  • A piece of paper.
  • Writing utensil.

Step Two: Draw a tree with no leaves on a sheet of paper or print out a tree template with no leaves.

Step Three: Write one number on each leaf. For example, the user can decide to work on the numbers 1-5 and repeated them a few times.

Step Four: Write the numbers 1-5 around the branches of the tree and around the bottom of the paper several times.

Step Five: Play.

  • Give the child the leaf stickers with all the numbers written on them and have them match the leaves to the numbers on the tree.
